NPL FC wins London South East Club of the Year 2013
Written by Mike W on Friday 01 June 2012 - 12:49:25 | Comments are turned off for this item | printer friendly |

I just wanted to let you know that following on from winning Middlesex FA Community Club of the Year; we have now been awarded London and SE regional Charter Standard Community Club of the Year!

This is an outstanding achievement and the award recognised NPL FC as a whole club (Youth and Seniors). We were particularly recognised for the conduct of our players, coaches and spectators by referees which is brilliant to hear.

We are now in the final 8 for the national award.

On behalf of myself and Stuart, I just want to thank everybody for their support over the past 10 years in working towards the Charter Standard award and believing in the ethos that we have set. Everybody at the club should feel very proud to be known as part of "London & SE Club of the Year" and I would be grateful if you could inform your parents of this accolade.

a short history
NPLSC was originally the Sports & Social Club of the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and other organisations based on the NPL site. It now welcomes membership from everyone.

Based within the grounds of NPL the club is adjacent to the historical mansion of Bushy House which is held within the grounds of Bushy Park.

The club house has been recently extended and renovated whilst maintaining the original Tea Room, which moved to its current location in 1923 but was orginally constructed in the 1890s.

Our facilities include Sky Sports HD and Digital Channels on several flat-screen TVs, free WiFi, several function rooms with an in-house PA system, a pool table, a snooker room, a Bowling Green, Grass and Astroturf Tennis Courts, enclosed Table Tennis Courts and a large open playing area for football, hockey, cricket, volley ball, rounders and archery.
