a short history
NPLSC was originally the Sports & Social Club of the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and other organisations based on the NPL site. It now welcomes membership from everyone.
Based within the grounds of NPL the club is adjacent to the historical mansion of Bushy House which is held within the grounds of Bushy Park. The club house has been recently extended and renovated whilst maintaining the original Tea Room, which moved to its current location in 1923 but was orginally constructed in the 1890s. Our facilities include Sky Sports HD and Digital Channels on several flat-screen TVs, free WiFi, several function rooms with an in-house PA system, a pool table, a snooker room, a Bowling Green, Grass and Astroturf Tennis Courts, enclosed Table Tennis Courts and a large open playing area for football, hockey, cricket, volley ball, rounders and archery. A longer history can be found on our "about page"
